7-day FAM Trip to Changsha and Zhangjiajie

Day 1 - October 25^th, 2019 (Friday)

Schedule

Depart Haikou Marriott and transfer to the airport for the flight to Changsha.

Reference Flight: Hainan Airlines flight 7297 (14:15/16:00)

• 18:00: Welcome dinner at Grand Hyatt Changsha!
• 19:30: Transfer to Changsha Concert Hall and watch Changsha Symphony Orchestra Concert performed by Bamberg Germany Symphony Orchestra in the evening.

Day 2 - October 26^th, 2019 (Saturday)

Schedule

After breakfast, depart for a full day tour to include the Hunan Provincial Museum, Orange Isle, Yuelu Academy, Meixihu International Culture and Art Center.

• Hunan Provincial Museum is the largest history and art museum in Hunan province. Boasting abundant collections, the museum houses over 180,000 artifacts, which feature the cultural relics excavated from the world-famous Mawangdui Tombs of Han Dynasty, the bronze wares of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, cultural relics of Chu State, pottery and porcelain works from various dynasties, calligraphy works and paintings, religious objects, handicrafts and cultural relics of modern times.

  
  

• Orange Isle is an isle in the Xiangjiang River. It is a national tourist attraction that features an enormous statue of Chairman Mao- often referred to as the Mount Rushmore of China.

  
  

• Yuelu Academy is one of the four most prestigious academies over the last 1000 years in China, Yuelu Academy has been a famous institution of higher learning as well as a center of academic activities and cultures since it was formally introduced during the Northern Song Dynasty.

  
  

• Meixihu International Culture and Art Center, which designed by Zaha hadid. We will experience the real masterpiece.

Day 3 - October 27^th, 2019 (Sunday)

Schedule

Breakfast at the hotel and check out, then start the tour in Tongguanyao Ancient Town, where we will experience the ancient traditions of pottery making.

Drive to Huitang Town, a rural town in Ningxiang City, Hunan, which is famous for its hot springs. Enjoy the hot spring baths and spa activities all evening.

Huitang is one of China's most important hot spring regions- with an area of 1,300 square km. Its heat originates mainly from the magma in the Yan and Wei Mountains. In recent years, Ningxiang County has invested heavily in the hot springs and wellness tourism product development.

Day 4 - October 28^th, 2019 (Monday)

Breakfast at hotel, check out and transfer to Zhangjiajie - where you will appreciate the amazing natural scenery.

We will visit Huangshizhai (Yellow Stone Stronghold) by cable car first. Located 1080 meters above sea level located in the center of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and it's also called Yellow Lion Zhai as it looks like a giant lion from a distance. It's said to be the most beautiful viewing deck of Wulingyuan scenic area, where you will appreciate countless peaks and pillars, and the vast mountain forest.

Next, we will venture on to Jinbianxi (Golden Whip Brook), which is highly praised by some people as the most beautiful and memorable stream in the world with the pristine water, steep cliffs, grotesque mountains, peaceful valleys, and the abundant flowers, trees, grasses decorating all surroundings.

Day 5 - October 29^th, 2019 (Tuesday)

After breakfast, we will visit the Huanglongdong (Yellow Dragon Cave) in the morning. It is a typical karst cave with four floors containing a reservoir, two underground rivers, three underground waterfalls, four pools, thirteen halls and ninety-six entryways to the inside. Due to the large scale and rich varieties of stalactites, stone columns, stalagmites, stone flowers and more inside the cave, Yellow Dragon Cave is praised as the "All-around Champion Karst Cave in the World".

In the afternoon, we will take a cable car to the top of Mt. Tianzi, located in the northern part of Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Tianzi Mountain provides stunning views of peaks, which rise one after another. It is known as 'the Monarch of the Peak Forest'. At the top of the mountain, visitors can see the full extent of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area.

The excitement continues as we will transfer to Yuanjiajie to visit the main highlights of Zhangjiajie including the "First Bridge under Heaven"- where you will walk across the bridge and enjoy fantastic views of the valley. We will also visit Avatar's "Hallelujah Mountain", famous for being the inspiration for the Hollywood movie Avatar. Last, we will descend the mountain, taking the Hundred Dragon Elevator, in Chinese Bailong Elevator, which is an attraction itself. It was built along the side of a cliff and it is the highest of its kind in the world.

Day 6- October 30, 2019 (Wednesday)

After breakfast we will visit the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, which is believed to be the world's longest and tallest glass pedestrian bridge. Glass panels are set into its walkway, giving visitors vertigo-inducing views and photo opportunities of the canyon below.

In the afternoon we will journey to the top of Mount Tainmen by cable car. Tianmen Mountain Cableway is claimed in tourist publications as the "longest passenger cableway of high mountains in the world".
